Birding by Ear for Beginners (Online Class)

Bird Alliance of Oregon presents:
Birding by Ear for Beginners
Discover the joy of identifying birds through their songs and calls! This virtual class is designed for beginners who want to enhance their birding skills by learning how to recognize and remember bird sounds. We’ll explore how to break down bird sounds into different types, recognize pitch, patterns of repetition and speed, and develop strategies for memorization.
You’ll also learn about tools to improve your skills and ways to practice effectively. The class will highlight the distinctive calls and songs of birds commonly found in the Portland area, helping you build confidence in the field. Whether you’re new to birding or looking to deepen your connection to nature, this class will open your ears to a whole new world.
