DESCRIPTION:Join **Julia** (she/they) for a casual\, beginner-friendly birding outing at Company Lake in Troutdale! This outing is designed as an **affinity event for Queer\, BIPOC\, and/or Neurodivergent folks** who want to spend time birding in a welcoming community space. \nThis will be a relaxed\, social walk focused on enjoying birds together and collective knowledge sharing. Whether you’re completely new to birding or have some experience\, you’re welcome to join.\nParticipants can expect to see **20–40 bird species** depending on conditions. Possible sightings include lingering ducks and waterfowl\, **American Kestrels**\, returning **swallows**\, **Turkey Vultures**\, and maybe even **Osprey**. \nThe pace will be relaxed with multiple stops to look and listen for birds. SUMMARY:Full Moon BIPOC Hike - Tryon Creek
DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of Tryon Creek staff for an early evening full moon hike to celebrate seasonal changes and the Tryon community. This hike is for community members who identify as Black\, Indigenous and/or People of Color\, and will be led by BIPOC staff. Spring is an amazing time to see new birds and listen for their unique songs. These events will focus on listening for birds and learning their different songs. But we will definitely stop to watch birds and connect with each other. \nSome special birds we might see at Powell Butte include American Goldfinch\, Common Yellowthroat and Savannah Sparrow.\nNo birding experience necessary and 1st timers are welcome!
