DESCRIPTION:Join **Julia** (she/they) for a casual\, beginner-friendly birding outing at Company Lake in Troutdale! This outing is designed as an **affinity event for Queer\, BIPOC\, and/or Neurodivergent folks** who want to spend time birding in a welcoming community space. \nThis will be a relaxed\, social walk focused on enjoying birds together and collective knowledge sharing. Whether you’re completely new to birding or have some experience\, you’re welcome to join.\nParticipants can expect to see **20–40 bird species** depending on conditions. Possible sightings include lingering ducks and waterfowl\, **American Kestrels**\, returning **swallows**\, **Turkey Vultures**\, and maybe even **Osprey**. \nThe pace will be relaxed with multiple stops to look and listen for birds. SUMMARY:Brown's Ferry Park Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join naturalist and educator Elaine Murphy for a free educational bird walk around Brown’s Ferry Park! Browns Ferry Park in Tualatin is on 28.3 acres of land acquired by Zenas Brown in 1850 under the Donation Land Act. Brown operated Tualatin’s first ferry upstream from here between 1850 and 1856. An old barn reminds visitors that this suburban area was once farmland. The centerpiece of the park is the Browns Ferry Pond\, which is a hive of activity for various species of birds from fall through spring. \nOur expert-guided free bird walks are a great way to see and learn to recognize our local birds! \nTo accompany Elaine on the bird walk\, we ask that you register in advance by phoning the Lake Oswego shop at 503-445-2699\, press 2. The walk will last 2 – 3 hours.  Advance reservations are required—we limit the number of participants to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and educational experience.  Dress for the weather\, and\, please\, no pets! \nBrown’s Ferry Park – 5855 SW Nyberg Lane. Meet in the parking lot on the west side of the park at 8am.  \n  \n
