DESCRIPTION:Bird Alliance of Oregon & PDX People of Color Outdoors \nSATURDAYS: Bird Song Walks at Powell Butte with People of Color Outdoors\n\nThis event is reserved for people of color.\nCome check out all the spring birds at Powell Butte in outer SE Portland. Spring is an amazing time to see new birds and listen for their unique songs. These events will focus on listening for birds and learning their different songs. But we will definitely stop to watch birds and connect with each other. \nSome special birds we might see at Powell Butte include American Goldfinch\, Common Yellowthroat and Savannah Sparrow.\nNo birding experience necessary and 1st timers are welcome! DESCRIPTION:Bird Alliance of Oregon + Feminist Bird Club PDX present – \nSUNDAYS: Accessible Bird Song Outing at Whitaker Ponds w/ FBC.PDX\n\nThis event is reserved for people who identify as BIPOC\, queer\, and or disabled.\nJoin Rey Snyder and a host of friends from the FBC.PDX for a movement-oriented morning. We will spend our time enjoying all the birds around us and learn how to identify them by the sounds they make. The needs of the group + the presence of the birds will determine our pace. \nAccessible Bird Song Outing at Whitaker Ponds w/ FBC.PDX outings are held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. RSVP below! These outings begin on April 6 and end April 27.\nThis outing is limited to 12 people. \nRSVP! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility\nDistance: up to 1 mile\nTrail Tread & Width: Mostly Gravel road; some single track packed dirt (can be very muddy)\nElevation Changes: up to 10 ft.\nPacing: Slow w/ frequent stops.\nAmenities: Single user Porta Potty. Parking lot on site.\nPublic Transit:TriMet bus #75 makes a stop at the corner of NE 47th Avenue and Columbia Blvd and visitors can walk north from there to the park entrance.\nMeeting Location: Whitaker Ponds Nature Park.
